Even as a Greensboro wedding photographer with a tremendous love for local weddings, I treasure getting the chance to travel all over! Most recently, Abbas and I traveled to Columbus, OH to photograph Amanda and Jay’s wedding.
Abbas and I know Jay from college, who we came to know and love in the wonderful on-campus ministry and church called H2O. I have fond memories of singing on the worship team with Jay. His deep voice is so perfectly suited to songs like “Lord I Need You” by Matt Maher! We spent many an evening crowded into the basement of our friend’s college house for worship practice. The good old days! We enjoyed celebrating Jay’s marriage to his beautiful bride Amanda, and we loved the added bonus of seeing many old friends from H2O. It was such a special reunion!
Also, Amanda was also one of the most laid back, joyful people I’ve ever met. She is the real deal, y’all! Amanda is beautiful, talented, smart, servant-hearted, and so, so comfortable in her own skin. She is such a light!
Have you ever been to a wedding where all you can think is simply “YES… this is how weddings are supposed to be”? That’s how I felt about Jay and Amanda’s wedding. Their genuine, patient love for one another is an incredible testament to their faith. Plus, the way they look at each other is precious beyond words. Every aspect of their day pointed dutifully and joyfully to God, which was so, so encouraging!
There were so many awesome moments throughout the day. The wedding party got ready at the Doubletree Suites in Downtown Columbus. After sweet times of music and preparation, the wedding party was chauffeured to High Line Car House via limousine! When everyone arrived, there was time for prayers and portraits, then it was go time! Amanda walked down the aisle with her father while her sister and dear friend sang the Flower Duet from the opera Lakme. Y’all… it was incredible.
Jay and Amanda were wed by one of the guys from our college ministry, Kyle, who has adopted a leadership role with the church. Everyone was emotional in the best way during the ceremony, as they enjoyed heartfelt vows, tears, laughs (the arbor almost came crashing down, but the best man caught it! Make sure you check out Kyle’s reaction… Priceless), and reminders of the true meaning of marriage. After the ceremony, some portrait time gave way to one fun reception, complete with a live band, a donut wall, incredible food, fabulous dancing, and a whole lotta joy.
Alright, enough of my talking on and on… check out some images from the day!
Jay and Amanda,
Thank you for allowing Abbas and me to document your beautiful day! May the Lord bless your marriage abundantly, and may you cling to one another equally in times of difficulty and joy. I pray that your faith in God and love for one another would grow exponentially with each passing day. You two are such a light in our dark world, and I pray that nothing would ever diminish or extinguish that light. We love you guys!
XOXO,
Jenn & Abbas

Your photos are some of the best I’ve seen. LOVE how your bright images aren’t washed out, and how your darker editing style still keeps an excellent quality of light on everyone’s eye sockets. EXCELLENT job!!!
Wow! What a beatiful wedding! Great job capturing the day!
Such a fun wedding – and her dress was so gorgeous!!
