It can be difficult to find locations for Bridal Portraits in North Carolina. Trying to find the right style and colors to match a dress can take a long time. Luckily, I know a few locations in the NC area that work well for a variety of styles. Check out a few of my favorites below!
McAlister-Leftwich House in Greensboro
The McAlister-Leftwich house is actually two historic homes that were moved and brought together in a famous legacy neighborhood in Greensboro. The family who owns the venue took special care to honor the history of the homes, while also taking care to make it functional. Both homes are available for photography. It’s a beautiful place, both inside or out, for photos. There is a lot of lighting inside from the expansive windows. Nearly everything is painted white so it’s very bright! Any photographer would be happy to shoot here. Here’s more about The McAlister-Leftwich House and why I love it for weddings too!
Reynolda Gardens in Winston-Salem
Reynolda Gardens is a gorgeous place with an interesting history! In spring and summer when the flowers are in bloom, everything here is amazing. There are so many spots where the lighting is perfect. It’s one of my favorite places, and I shoot there often. Like most stunning locations on this list, it does require a permit to shoot there, but this is a good thing. This ensures that we are the only photographer and clients on site, so you do not have to worry about struggling to find locations to take pictures, despite it being a public park.
Blandwood Carriage House in Greensboro
The Blandwood Carriage House was recently renovated. It has an Italianate style, and is an inspirational place for portraits. For brides who like more modern, studio-like photos, this site is perfect! It has interesting architecture and is an up and coming venue in Greensboro, so you will get some unique and special photos if we take pictures there!
Holt House in Lexington
The Holt House is another historic home, with a picturesque façade and fascinating history. There are so many lovely vignettes and spots everywhere there that make for amazing photos. The entire home has great window light and historic charm. It has been maintained really well, so brides who like venues that are older and that look beautiful will feel at home here. Here’s a previous photoshoot I’ve done there!
Summerfield Farms in Summerfield
Summerfield Farms is a gorgeous venue for bridal portraits in North Carolina. It is a great outdoor option for days when you’re certain there will be nice weather. There are a few spaces on the grounds where the light is just unbelievable during golden hour! So brides who are after a brighter look to their photos or who are interested in outdoor sessions, this location is an excellent option!
