This wedding season inspired us to think of ways that couples could make a small, intimate ceremony even more special. Micro weddings may be here to stay. So, I teamed up with Amanda K Events and a group of talented wedding vendors to showcase how an intimate and romantic event surrounded by only close friends and family can really be something worth celebrating. Sacrificing the guest list feels so heartbreaking, yes. But with a micro wedding, the details can be more extravagant yet still within an achievable budget, unlike similar affairs with lengthy guest lists. This Holt House NC Micro Wedding Styled Shoot highlights how small events can be just as special as large celebrations.
Our Vision for the Holt House Micro Wedding Styled Shoot
Amanda is one of my favorite North Carolina planners to work with. While I dreamt big, she brought the vision to life within a realistic budget: a key skill for a great wedding planner! We wanted to highlight thoughtful details that inspire couples to turn their unanticipated micro weddings into the intimate event of their dreams. Holt House was the perfect setting to bring our vision to life, with its elegant architecture, historic feel, and lots of natural light. We were so excited to get this team together to create and do what we missed so much this wedding season!
Amanda and I wanted to bring lots of joy and some unexpected elements into the mix. We focused on pops of bright, cheery color, which you can see in the fantastic floral arrangement, stunning cake, and even in the beverage choices from the Wine Flower. We chose to include signature cocktails in order to really play up the elegance. This special touch was perfectly framed in the Holt House, Lexington’s new historic home venue.
The wonderful thing about micro weddings
Surrounding yourself with only your family and closest friends makes the event more memorable. You get to create a shared experience to be savored by the people you love most. You can still have the dance party you desire or the cocktail hour of your dreams, and as an added bonus, you maximize the quality time that you spend with your guests due to the smaller guest list.
Having fewer guests means you can splurge on details to create something extra special, such as lavish flower arrangements from Grace and Greenery, or personalized seating cards from Magnolia Pen and Paper. We also showcased a more ornate cake from Blue Soda Cake, which brought even more fun color to the event! To top things off, Ivory Hound, a boutique dog watching service, brought their pup Drogo, who added such cute energy to the couples portraits.Â

About Styled Shoots
If you’re not familiar with the concept, styled shoots are opportunities for vendors to get together and plan an editorial session for the purpose of broadening our portfolio, showcasing our work, and expressing creative vision. We find real couples to model, typically ones who are already married. While the wedding itself is staged, the love is real! And, so is the talent exuding from these creative wedding professionals. In fact, we loved working together so much that we’re already planning our next session. Stay tuned!
